A big coral octopus wall decal, watercolour, hand-painted by our in-house artist, curling its tentacles across the wall like it's swimming past. We print it on matte fabric in Melbourne, so on the wall it looks painted on, perfect for an under the sea nursery, a coastal kids' room or a playroom.

Which size? Pick by how much wall you want the octopus to fill:

  • Medium, 90cm wide × 76cm tall: swims nicely above a chest of drawers, bookshelf or desk.
  • Large, 117cm wide × 99cm tall: a real statement octopus for a wide stretch of wall, or the centrepiece with our other Under the Sea pieces around it.

Printed in 3 pieces. To fit it on our fabric, the octopus is printed in 3 pieces: the head and body, plus two tentacle pieces. Each join overlaps by 1cm, so there's no gap, and the pieces are numbered on the print sheet.

All sizes are width × height of the assembled octopus, measured from the cut line.

It depends on your paint. Our fabric decals are easiest on fresh, clean, non-chalky paint over a proper primer. Old, flaky or chalky paint can lift when any decal comes off. That's why every order includes a test piece: stick it somewhere out of sight, wait two days, then warm it with a hair dryer and peel slowly. Not for textured walls, raw plaster or chalky surfaces.
No. That's the difference between fabric and vinyl. Our thick matte fabric has no sheen, no white border and no plastic look, so the watercolour art reads as paint. Customers tell us family ask if the walls were hand painted.
No problem. Fabric is more forgiving than vinyl. Lift the piece and move it while you install. If it has been up for a while, warm it with a hair dryer first. Big pieces are easier with two people.
Fabric decals sit flat on the wall, with no raised border for little fingers to catch. Most parents place them higher up, out of reach.
The matte fabric holds the colour of the original watercolour artwork well. Screens vary, so if you're matching a colour scheme, email us a photo of your room and we'll help.
