Wallpaper Care Guide
How to clean, maintain, and protect your wallpaper so it looks beautiful for years to come.
Cleaning Your Wallpaper
Tiny Walls wallpaper is printed on premium polyester fabric with a soft matte finish. The surface is durable and easy to maintain — most marks and dust can be removed in seconds with the right approach.
Dust & Light Marks
Use a soft, dry microfibre cloth or a clean, dry paintbrush to gently brush away dust. Work from top to bottom in light strokes. Do not rub vigorously — this can disturb the fabric fibres.
Fingerprints & Smudges
Dampen a clean white cloth with plain warm water. Gently dab (do not rub) the affected area. Allow to air dry. For most everyday marks, this is all that is needed.
Food & Sticky Marks
Act quickly — fresh marks are always easier to remove than dried ones. Dampen a cloth with warm water and a tiny amount of mild dish soap. Dab gently, then wipe with a clean damp cloth to remove any soap residue.
Crayon & Pencil (Kids' Rooms)
For pencil marks, try a clean eraser first with very light pressure. For crayon, a small amount of white toothpaste on a damp cloth can help lift the mark. Always test in an inconspicuous area first.

How Long Will It Last?
On properly prepared walls, Tiny Walls wallpaper is designed to last 5–10 years or longer. The limiting factor is almost always the wall condition and the room environment — not the product itself. Here is how different factors affect lifespan.
| Factor | Impact on Longevity | What to Do |
|---|---|---|
| Wall preparation | The most significant factor. Properly cleaned and cured walls dramatically extend lifespan. | Follow the full prep checklist before installation. |
| Room humidity | Low-humidity rooms (bedrooms, nurseries) outperform higher-humidity spaces significantly. | Avoid bathrooms and laundries entirely. |
| Direct sunlight | Prolonged UV exposure can cause gradual fading over several years. | Use UV-filtering window film or blinds in sun-facing rooms. |
| Temperature fluctuations | Extreme temperature swings cause the adhesive to expand and contract, weakening the bond over time. | Avoid uninsulated spaces or rooms with large temperature swings. |
| Physical contact | Edges near high-traffic areas (door frames, hallways) may lift sooner than central areas. | Re-press edges periodically and use a small amount of wallpaper paste on persistent corners. |
| Cleaning frequency | Regular gentle cleaning prevents dirt build-up that can degrade the surface over time. | Dust lightly every few months with a dry microfibre cloth. |
Fixing Lifted Edges
Over time, particularly in rooms with temperature changes or near high-traffic areas, edges may occasionally begin to lift. This is normal and easy to fix.
- Clean the area first — use a dry cloth to remove any dust from behind the lifted section and from the wall surface.
- Apply a small amount of wallpaper paste or PVA glue — use a fine brush to apply a thin, even layer behind the lifted section. Do not use superglue or contact adhesive.
- Press firmly and hold — press the edge back into place and hold firmly for 30–60 seconds.
- Wipe away any excess — use a damp cloth to remove any adhesive that squeezes out from the edge before it dries.
- Allow to dry fully — leave undisturbed for at least 2 hours.
If multiple panels or large sections begin lifting within the first few months, this typically indicates a wall preparation issue — either the paint was not fully cured, the wall was not clean enough before installation, or the paint type is not compatible. Storing Spare Panels
We always recommend ordering one extra panel when you place your order. Designs can be discontinued, and having a spare panel means you can replace a damaged section years later without needing to re-order and risk a colour mismatch from a different print run.
- Keep the original backing paper — store spare panels with the backing paper still attached to protect the adhesive.
- Store flat — lay panels flat in a cool, dry place. Do not roll them tightly as this can crease the fabric.
- Avoid dust and moisture — store in a clean plastic sleeve or between sheets of clean cardboard.
- Keep away from direct sunlight — UV exposure will fade stored panels over time, leading to a colour mismatch when installed.
- Label with the design name and order date — useful for future reference if you need to order a matching panel.
