It depends on your paint. Our fabric decals are easiest on fresh, clean, non-chalky paint over a proper primer, and come off with gentle heat: warm with a hairdryer and peel slowly, low to the wall. Old, chalky or poorly bonded paint can lift with any adhesive product. That's why every order includes a free test piece — try it on the same wall first. Lift the piece and move it while you're installing — the adhesive lets you reposition during the first placement. If it's been up a while, warm it with a hairdryer first. Step-by-step instructions come with every order, and it's genuinely a no-tools job: clean the wall, peel, place, smooth from the centre out.
Smooth, clean, painted interior walls — ideally primer plus two coats of good acrylic. Not textured walls, brick, render, flaky or chalky paint, humid rooms, or paint less than 4 weeks old. Put them up within 3 months of buying.

Tree & Leaf Wall Decals
Grow a tree indoors, no paint required
A tree is the one decal that changes a whole room. Gum trees, oak trees, acacias and palms, painted by our in-house artist and printed on matte fabric in Melbourne, in sizes from a branch above the bed to a full-height tree beside the cot. The matte finish and soft watercolour edges are why visitors assume the tree was painted on.
What's in the range
Australian gum trees with koalas and native birds, a woodland oak tree for deer and foxes, an acacia for safari animals, and tropical palms for a coastal room. Add animals and birds separately so the scene is yours.
Ideas for the room
Put the trunk in a corner so the canopy spreads along two walls, or stand two gum trees either side of the cot. Large trees arrive in pieces with simple overlaps and go up in an afternoon with two people.

Good to know before you stick
Our decals work best on smooth, clean, painted interior walls, ideally a primer plus two coats of acrylic. If the room has just been painted, give it four weeks to cure first. They're not suited to textured walls, flaky or chalky paint, or steamy rooms, and they go up best within three months of arriving. Every decal order includes a free test piece, so try it on the same wall before you commit. When it's time for a change, warm each piece with a hairdryer and peel slowly; how cleanly it comes away depends on your paint, so read the install guide and removal guide first.
