Not Sure? Ask Away.
It depends on your paint. Our fabric decals are easiest on fresh, clean, non-chalky paint over a proper primer, and come off with gentle heat: warm with a hairdryer and peel slowly, low to the wall. Old, chalky or poorly bonded paint can lift with any adhesive product. That's why every order includes a free test piece — try it on the same wall first. Not for textured walls, raw plaster or chalky surfaces. Renting? Read our renter FAQ.
No. Our decals are hand-painted designs printed on thick matte fabric, not shiny vinyl. There's no sheen, no white border and no plastic look, so the watercolour art reads as paint. Customers tell us their family asks who painted it.
It's on our Best Sellers. Add any two best sellers and the lower-priced one is free at checkout, automatically. One free decal per order. Offer terms
Lift the piece and move it while you're installing — the adhesive lets you reposition during the first placement. If it's been up a while, warm it with a hairdryer first. Step-by-step instructions come with every order, and it's genuinely a no-tools job: clean the wall, peel, place, smooth from the centre out.
Smooth, clean, painted interior walls — ideally primer plus two coats of good acrylic. Not textured walls, brick, render, flaky or chalky paint, humid rooms, or paint less than 4 weeks old. Put them up within 3 months of buying.
Most orders leave our Melbourne warehouse within 48 hours. Standard shipping is $10, free on orders $200+. Australia-wide.
Animal Wall Decals
Animals that look painted on the wall
Deer and foxes, cows and chickens, lions and giraffes, whales and sharks, koalas and kookaburras, all painted in watercolour by our in-house artist and printed on matte fabric in Melbourne. Our 6-month-olds look at them from the change table; our 4-year-olds name them and say goodnight to them.
What's in the range
Australian animals, safari, woodland, farm, under the sea and unicorns, as individual pieces, themed sets and full-room bundles.
Ideas for the room
Pick one tree as the anchor, then place the animals at the height of the child who'll be looking at them. Mixing families is fine; a koala and a giraffe share a wall happily. Start small and add as they grow.
Why they look painted on
Every design is painted by our in-house artist, then printed on a matte polyester fabric rather than shiny vinyl, so there's no sticker sheen, no white border and no plastic look. Everything is designed and printed in Melbourne, more than 30,000 Australian families have decorated with Tiny Walls since 2019, and shipping is free on orders over $200. Most rooms are finished in an afternoon with no painter, no fumes and no mural to wait on.
Good to know before you stick
Our decals work best on smooth, clean, painted interior walls, ideally a primer plus two coats of acrylic. If the room has just been painted, give it four weeks to cure first. They're not suited to textured walls, flaky or chalky paint, or steamy rooms, and they go up best within three months of arriving. Every decal order includes a free test piece, so try it on the same wall before you commit. When it's time for a change, warm each piece with a hairdryer and peel slowly; how cleanly it comes away depends on your paint, so read the install guide and removal guide first.
