A note from our founder
I'm a Melbourne mum, and I couldn't find wall art that didn't look like a cheap sticker. So I made my own.
If you've ever stared at a boring beige wall wishing you could make it beautiful, without paint or holes, this is for you.

A few years ago I was decorating my little one's room and I hit the same wall every other mum does. I wanted something beautiful. Something calm and magical and a bit special. But my options were disappointing: hire a painter for a small fortune, commit to a mural I couldn't undo, or buy those shiny plastic stickers that scream "clip art" the second you get them home.
None of it felt like the room I pictured. So I teamed up with an illustrator and started making the thing I actually wanted. Watercolour wall decals, illustrated by hand and printed on a soft matte fabric, the kind that looks painted straight onto the wall rather than stuck on.
"I didn't want a sticker. I wanted the room my child would remember growing up in."
Turns out I wasn't the only one. Today more than 25,000 Australian families have used Tiny Walls to transform a nursery, a bedroom, or a rental they couldn't paint. And the questions they ask me before they buy are almost always the same worries. So let me put them to rest, mum to mum.
The things everyone worries about
"Will it damage my walls?"
I'll be straight with you, because that's how I run this brand. No removable decal is truly zero damage, and any company that promises that isn't telling you the whole story. How your wall was prepped, and how you take the decals down, makes all the difference. In rentals especially, walls are often painted over without proper prep, so there's always some risk of paint lifting. That's the paint, not the decal. Removed the right way though, they come away beautifully, and I'll show you exactly how below.
"What if I mess it up putting it on?"
You won't, and you don't have to be perfect. The pieces lift and reposition while you place them, so there's no pressure to get it right first go. Slide it, adjust it, breathe. If you can smooth out a bedsheet, you've got this. No tools, no drilling, no fumes.
"Will it look cheap, like a sticker?"
This is the one I care about most. Our designs are original watercolour illustrations printed on a matte fabric, so there's no shine and no plastic look. Guests genuinely think the walls are painted.
What comes in every order
A step by step installation guide, a removal guide, and a small test sample so you can try the material on your own wall before you commit to the full design. It isn't a guarantee, it's simply a way to feel the fabric, see the finish, and know you love it first. And if you change your mind, we have a 30 day return policy on decals.
Lift the decal from its backing. No soaking, no paste, no tools.
Position it on the wall. It repositions freely while you work, so take your time.
Press from the centre out. That's it. Most rooms are done in an afternoon.
How to take them down the right way
The whole secret is just two things: heat to soften the adhesive, and peeling in a downward motion.
- Warm the decal with a hair dryer on low for 20 to 30 seconds to soften the adhesive.
- Start at a corner and peel slowly, pulling the decal down and flat against the wall, never straight out towards you.
- That downward angle is the whole secret. It keeps the paint where it belongs.
- Go extra gently on older or freshly painted walls, and warm any stubborn spots again.
Every order includes the full removal guide. Follow it for the best possible result. Honesty over hype, always. That's how we do things here.
The truth about our adhesive, after seven years
Next time you're in Bunnings, take a look at the paint aisle. Almost everything now is low VOC, washable or stain resistant. Those paints have clever additives that repel dirt, which is wonderful when you have kids and sticky fingers, but the very thing that repels dirt also repels adhesive. It's exactly why low tack stickers so often slide straight off a modern wall.
That's why we use a medium tack, pressure activated adhesive. It's a little stronger than most, and I chose it on purpose so it actually holds on the paints Australian homes really have. The brands promising "no damage, no damage" are usually low tack. They sound gentler, but they often don't stay up, and they can still lift paint anyway if the wall is old, flaky, or was never prepped properly.
Here's the honest bit though. There are a hundred little variables in paint and prep, and you shouldn't need a degree in any of it before you decorate your child's room. You just want it to go up, look beautiful, and come down cleanly. That's our job to get right, not yours. Prep your wall well, follow the heat release guide that comes in every order, and you're set.
