Hand-painted fabric wall decals of butterflies in delicate blush pink, buttery yellow and soft mint, some open-winged and some in side profile, for a light, fluttering feel. Our in-house artist painted them, and we print them on matte fabric in Melbourne, so on the wall they look painted on.

What's in the set

  • 30 open-winged butterflies, 9 × 7cm: 12 pink, 12 yellow and 6 mint
  • 12 side-profile butterflies, 5 × 7cm

Scatter them around a reading nook, let them flutter up from a dresser or bookshelf, or add them around a larger floral or garden decal set.

All sizes are width × height.

  • Watercolour art painted by our in-house artist
  • Printed on thick matte fabric, not vinyl, so there's no shine and no white border
  • Peel and stick. Lift and move each piece while you install
  • Designed and printed in Melbourne
  • A test piece comes in every order
  • Best on smooth, clean interior walls with fresh, well-primed paint
  • Just painted? Wait around 30 days for the paint to cure first
  • Not for textured, flaky, chalky or unprimed walls, brick, render, outdoors or steamy rooms
  • Put them up within 3 months of buying. Decals are best fresh, not stored
  • Taking them down: warm with a hair dryer, then peel slowly, down along the wall
  • How removal goes depends on your paint. Try the test piece first

A note on your paint — Wash & Wear and other low-VOC paints, and walls painted without a separate primer, carry a higher risk of paint chipping. All paint wears with age. The test piece in your order shows you how your wall behaves. It's a guide, not a guarantee.

It depends on your paint. Our fabric decals are easiest on fresh, clean, non-chalky paint over a proper primer. Old, flaky or chalky paint can lift when any decal comes off. That's why every order includes a test piece: stick it somewhere out of sight, wait two days, then warm it with a hair dryer and peel slowly. Not for textured walls, raw plaster or chalky surfaces.
No. That's the difference between fabric and vinyl. Our thick matte fabric has no sheen, no white border and no plastic look, so the watercolour art reads as paint. Customers tell us family ask if the walls were hand painted.
No problem. Fabric is more forgiving than vinyl. Lift the piece and move it while you install. If it has been up for a while, warm it with a hair dryer first. Big pieces are easier with two people.
Fabric decals sit flat on the wall, with no raised border for little fingers to catch. Most parents place them higher up, out of reach.
The matte fabric holds the colour of the original watercolour artwork well. Screens vary, so if you're matching a colour scheme, email us a photo of your room and we'll help.
