Installing Your Wall Decals: A Quick Guide
Our decals are designed for easy application and removal on most walls. To ensure the best, longest-lasting results and avoid any surprises, here are a few key tips.

1. Before You Start: Wall Preparation is Key
For the smoothest application and best adhesion, your wall should be:

• Clean, dry, and smooth.
• Painted with two coats of good-quality acrylic paint over a separate primer. Avoid 2-in-1 paint and primer products.
• Fully cured for at least 4 weeks. Even if it feels dry to the touch, fresh paint needs time to fully harden.

Heads up: Newly painted or poorly prepped walls can sometimes lead to minor issues like bubbling or peeling when decals are repositioned or removed.

2. Paint Type Matters
Even professionally painted walls can sometimes cause issues. This might happen if:

• A separate primer wasn't used.
• The paint is stain-resistant, washable, or Teflon-based. These high-performance paints tend to resist adhesion if not applied over a well-primed surface.
• The wall wasn't properly sealed, or there's old, flaky paint underneath.
• The wall wasn't sanded before repainting. If the surface isn't smooth or old paint wasn't removed, the new paint can't bond well, which may cause lifting when decals are repositioned.
• The paint is older or brittle, as it might lift during removal or repositioning.

3. Not Sure About Your Wall? Test It!
For peace of mind, apply a small decal piece in an inconspicuous spot for a few days. If you notice any paint lifting when gently repositioning the test decal, your paint may not be suitable.

4. Application Prep Checklist
Before applying your decals:

✔ Wash your hands.
✔ Gently wipe the wall with a damp microfiber cloth.
✔ Let the surface dry completely before proceeding.

5. How to Apply Your Decals

• Carefully peel your decals from the backing.
• Position them on the wall and smooth firmly with your hands or a soft tool like a felt squeegee. Our adhesive works best with pressure.
• For larger decals, cut out individual pieces and remove excess material. Use painter’s tape to help position them before sticking.
• If your decals overlap, line up the patterns carefully. If they don't match perfectly, gently rotate the piece a little until it fits.

6. Need to Reposition? No Problem!

If you need to adjust a decal:

• Ensure your hands and the wall are clean.
• Press firmly when repositioning.
• Take care not to move too much at once, especially on delicate paint.

7. Removing Your Decals
When it's time to take them down:

• Gently warm the decal with a hairdryer on a low setting for 30–60 seconds to soften the adhesive.
• Slowly peel from one corner, keeping the decal close to the wall.
• Use heat again on stubborn areas as needed.

8. Storage Tip
Keep the original backing paper if you plan to move or store your decals later. Alternatively, you can use Corflute sheets (available at Bunnings or your local hardware store). To ensure reusability, keep the adhesive clean and free of dust and grime.

9. Safety Reminder
Ensure all decals are firmly pressed down, especially when placed above cots or beds. Check regularly and remove immediately if any edges start to lift.

Important: While our decals are designed to be removable, we cannot guarantee damage-free removal in every case. Wall preparation, paint quality, and removal method all play a significant role. Following these instructions will help you achieve the best possible experience.
