Sample information

It is important to see how the sample will look in your home before committing to a full order.

Ordering wallpaper samples is an important step in the wallpaper purchasing process. By doing so, you will be able to see the colour and take into account your environmental conditions.

After reviewing the pattern and scale, ensure that you are satisfied with the colour and design.

Please note that mobile phones and computers may use different colours and display settings, so relying on the colours you see on screen is not recommended.

The wallpaper you choose is custom-made just for you and is not refundable if you change your mind.

The sample design contains 2 sections,

✓ a 'to scale' section of the chosen design,

✓ as well as a small preview of how the panels will look

By reviewing your chosen design at scale and in a panel version, you will be able to determine whether or not you are making the right decision for your interior design project.

We do not recommend using our samples for small projects, however, if you require a small section of wallpaper for your project - contact us for a quote.

It is important to note that samples are not intended to be used for colour matching.

Colour can vary slightly between runs, so the colour of your wallpaper may be slightly different from that shown in the sample.

How to order a sample

Prior to ordering wallpaper, we strongly recommend ordering a sample to test.

Here is how to do it.

✓ Choose from a wide selection of designs on our website - the sky's the limit when it comes to your options.

✓ Choose "SAMPLE" from the drop-down menu where it says "Choose your wall width:" on the product page.

✓ After adding the sample(s) to your cart, follow the steps for checkout, and wait for your samples to be delivered.

✓ Once you have received your designs, the only thing left is to review them to determine if the scale, pattern, texture, and design meet your requirements.

Afterwards, you can return to our website and order your wallpaper so that you can get started on your project!

How many panels of wallpaper do I need?

We offer wallpaper panels that are 62cm wide and available in three different lengths. There is a 2 cm overlap between each panel. This pattern has a width of 60 cms and then repeats for a distance of 2 cms.
In order to determine the number of panels, you will need for your project. The width and height of the wall should be measured at their widest and highest points. You should disregard any obstacles, such as windows, cupboards, doors, etc.

Once you have determined the width and height of your wall. In order to account for any inaccuracies, add an additional 20cms to both measurements.

For example, if your wall is 313cm wide and 247cm tall. The total measurements will be

333cm wide x 267cm height.

Calculate the number of panels by dividing 333 by 60 = 5.55. In this case, you will need 5 x 3mt height panels.

In case you are not sure, please contact us with your measurements and we will assist you in calculating the number of panels you will need.

Installation information

Here is a quick install guide, you will receive detailed instructions with your wallpaper order.

Getting started
Unroll the panels, each panel is numbered on the back at the top – you’ll be putting up panel #1 on the left and then applying them to the right.
Lay the first-panel design down on a clean, flat surface.
Peel the top edge back 20cm and fold the backing paper back so it stays out of the way.

Installation
Use your step ladder to hang the first panel of wallpaper on the wall, line it up under the cornice. Then let the panel fall naturally.
If the side of the wall is not covered all the way to the corner, allow an extra centimetre across the corner – this can be trimmed off at the end. Pull it off again if you’re not happy, and reapply.
Once you are happy with how it is placed, use the squeegee you received with your order (or your hand) and smooth it from the top in a down-and-out motion to “sweep” out any air pockets.
Work slowly and peel down the backing sheet in 30cm increments whilst smoothing the wallpaper onto the wall. This will help you to avoid air bubbles.

Dealing with wrinkles and bubbles
Large bubbles should just smooth out but if they get trapped or you get a crease, just peel back the panel to release them rather than rubbing the print.

Matching the design and installing the remaining panels
For the remaining panels you need to repeat the above (installation instructions) to get it safely on the wall and off the backing paper.
Each panel is made to overlap the previous panel by approximately 1cm.
Line up the pattern up and down the overlapping join and stick it to the wall but only enough to hold the panel flat to the wall – you can smooth it completely to the wall once the entire join is matched. Work slowly here and line up the pattern the best you can.

Trimming
Only once all the panels are adhered and aligned can you trim off the excess wallpaper. Run your sharp Stanley knife blade along the sides and bottom. Carefully trim around power points then replace the plates.

Moving the panels
If you want to move the wallpaper to a different wall, you need to apply it to the backing paper while vertical to avoid debris getting on the sticky side.
Stick a panel of the backing paper on the wall next to the panel you want to remove – stick at the top and bottom with masking tape or similar.
Peel the panel of wallpaper off the wall and move it across and stick it onto the backing paper, getting it lined up as best as possible.
It will help to have a second pair of hands to guide the bottom of the panel.
Once stuck, roll up the panel and protect any exposed edges – wrap in bubble wrap.

To remove the wallpaper.
Start at a corner and peel the wallpaper back gently & slowly. Place on the backing sheet for storage.
