Achieving the best adhesion requires a surface that's smooth, clean, and flat. Thanks to our product enhancements, the previous concerns with 'washable' paints and low VOC options from brands like Dulux, Haymes Paint, Wattyl, British Paints, Porter's Paints, and Taubmans are a thing of the past.
The Essentials of Wall Preparation
While our decals have become more adaptable, ensuring your surface is clean and dry remains key. For those unique or unsure situations, a little preparation can go a long way in enhancing decal adherence and longevity.
Navigating Potential Challenges
Cosmetic Concerns: The history of your space—from the paint used to the method of application—can influence the decal process. Although rare, minor cosmetic issues can arise but are easily rectified with a bit of sanding and repainting.
IMPORTANT: Do not apply wall stickers to freshly painted walls. Allow at least 4 weeks for the paint to fully cure and "outgas" before installation to prevent bubbling or the decals falling off. Avoid applying to walls with old, flaky, or improperly applied paint, as this may affect adhesion and durability.
Patience with New Paint: Allow newly painted walls a settling period of at least 30 days before introducing decals, ensuring the paint has thoroughly cured.Safety Considerations

Absolutely! Freshly painted walls need a little downtime to degas. To make sure your wallpaper adheres perfectly, we advise waiting four weeks after a paint job before installation. Rushing might cause your beautiful designs to lift off the wall or have issues bubbling, and we wouldn't want that!
If you're thinking about changing things again in the future, removing our decals is just as straightforward as installing it. Begin at the top of the decal and gently peel it downwards, almost folding it onto itself. It's essential to take your time – slow and steady is the way to go.
To prevent any damage to your wall or old, flaky paint from coming off, you might find it helpful to use a hairdryer to heat up the adhesive as you peel it off in a slow and gentle downward motion. This technique ensures that the decal stays as close to the wall as possible during removal. Your walls will appreciate the careful approach!
